2 Guys Photo Blog

Thoughts and opinions, resources and experiences… for emerging photographers everywhere.

This is the opening image and caption on the 2 Guys Photo blog.  Run by Rey and Ed Spadoni, this is one of my favorite blog sites.  Not only do they render interesting and compelling images - with commentary (i.e. the stories behind the pictures) - on a daily basis, but these "2 Guys" (pun intended) are accomplished and knowledgeable photographers in their own right.  I discovered their site about 1 1/2 years ago, subscribed immediately and have followed them since.

Now, I could write all kinds of ingratiating words describing exactly what their blog is...but I'd rather tell you what it isn't: for one, it's not another "how-to" site with vendor specific details on the camera d'jour (to be sure, they DO frequently provide helpful information, but that is not their focus); for another, their blog isn't your run-of-the-mill self-promoting photo-fest loaded with pointless, mundane images (the internet has enough of those already, don't you think?); finally, the 2 Guys Photo blog IS NOT just another Twitter feed of useless tripe with pictures.

Actually, the 2 Guys Photo blog is a forum for enthusiast, semi-pro and pro photographers to share their thoughts (and images) as an on going melange of poignant, pertinent and powerful photographic excellence, as exemplified in their daily meditations.  There, one will find beautiful imagery, inspiring quotes, thoughtful reflections, ponderings and contemplations (often bordering on prose) to feed the hungry soul.

A picture alone may speak a thousand words, but an image with appropriate reverie is more...it is an imagining.  THAT is what the 2 Guys Photo blog offers...imaginings.  And that is why I like and follow it.

Highly recommended...
